ChemPlantMatch

We are the broker, with the record kept

Chemical toll manufacturing in India already runs on brokers. Someone knows a plant in Ankleshwar with a spare glass-lined reactor, someone else knows a formulator who needs one, and a phone call turns into a campaign. It works — and it also loses information at every step. Nobody can search it. Nobody can verify it. Nothing that happened last year helps you judge the plant this year.

ChemPlantMatch is that same brokerage, written down. A person still reads every enquiry and still mediates the deal. What is new is that the plant’s capabilities are searchable before anyone makes a call, the introduction is documented, and the work that follows leaves a record both sides can point at.

Why anonymity comes first

A unit with idle capacity has a good reason not to say so out loud. Its customers read spare capacity as trouble; its competitors read it as an opening; its neighbours in the estate read it as gossip. So the plants that most need work are the ones least willing to advertise. That is the reason a public directory of tolling units does not exist, and would not fill up if someone built one.

Anonymity is the trade that unlocks it. A unit publishes what it can run — reactors, materials of construction, capacities, hazard classes, certifications, district — under an alias, and keeps its name. A buyer gets what they actually need to evaluate a plant, which was never the name in the first place.

We treat that as a security control rather than a policy. Public pages are built from a list of fields allowed out, so a field nobody put on the list cannot reach a page by accident; listing text and photos are read by a person before they publish; and a standing test in our release checks fetches those public pages as an outsider sees them and fails if an identity string shows up in one. The reveal is the one mechanism in the whole product that discloses who anyone is, and it takes two signatures and a deliberate act by our desk.

Why a person sits in the middle

The obvious product here is a matching engine: filters in, contacts out, everybody emails everybody. We did not build that, because in this market the cost of a bad introduction is not a wasted email — it is a plant manager taking a call about a chemistry his reactors cannot hold, and trusting the platform a little less afterwards.

So every enquiry passes our desk. Someone reads it, checks it against what the unit can genuinely run, asks the questions that were missing, and writes the brief the unit sees — a brief that carries the requirement without carrying the buyer’s identity. The unit can say no without ever having been exposed, and the buyer gets a real answer instead of silence.

That work is what the success fee pays for, and it is why we charge on completed business rather than on leads or listings. A lead fee would pay us to send you volume. A completion fee only pays us if the introduction was any good. Both sides of an introduction pay it, each at the rate in the document that side signed, because the desk works for both sides.

Why the work is tracked, not just introduced

A broker who disappears after the handshake leaves both sides with nothing but each other’s word. We stay on the case: the campaign becomes a work order with its own reference, the unit posts progress from the plant floor, the buyer sees the same timeline, and completion is recorded rather than asserted — the unit dispatches, and the client confirms receipt or lets the dispatch stand unchallenged. Neither party can close the other’s job, and neither can we.

The point of that is the record it leaves. A unit’s public track record — campaigns completed, volume processed, on-time percentage, repeat clients — is derived from completed work orders and nothing else. It cannot be typed in by the unit, and it cannot be typed in by us. That makes it slow to build and worth something when it exists, which is the right way round.

What we are not

  • We are not a party to your contract. We introduce and we mediate; the manufacturing agreement is between you and your counterparty, and we guarantee no volume of business to anyone.
  • We do not handle money. No escrow, no payment rail, no cut of the toll fee. Our only invoices are the success fee to the client and the success fee to the unit, raised after a work order is complete.
  • We are early, and the platform shows it. There are no ratings, no written reviews, no WhatsApp alerts and no mobile app yet. When those exist, they will be on the site before they are in a sentence about us.

We would rather have a short about page that is true than a long one that is not. If something here does not match what you find in the product, tell us — that is a bug, and we would like to know.
