Toll manufacturing for dyes and pigments in India

For dye and pigment makers who need an intermediate, a coupling or a standardisation step run where the effluent can be handled.

Live listings

No verified unit lists Dyes & pigments capacity yet. Listings appear here the day our desk approves them, and the guide below is how we qualify one when it does.

Post your requirement and our broker desk looks for the capacity by hand, or list your own unit if you run one.

Toll manufacturing for dyes & pigments

Dyes and pigments are the oldest toll manufacturing market in Gujarat. Dye intermediates run through nitration, reduction, sulfonation and amination; dyes are built by diazotisation and coupling; pigments are precipitated, filtered, dried and milled; and finished dyes are standardised by blending and spray drying. Each of those steps is available on job work in the estates that grew up around the trade.

The industry’s defining constraint is effluent. Colour, salt and organic load are high, so a plant’s common effluent treatment membership and its consent limits decide whether a campaign can run at all. The second constraint is colour contamination between products, which makes cleaning and dedicated equipment the practical questions for any toll enquiry.

What to check before you send an enquiry

The questions our desk puts to a unit before it qualifies an enquiry for Dyes & pigments. A listing answers most of them; the trial batch answers the rest.

  • Effluent capacity for coloured, high-salt streams at your campaign volume, and the CETP or ETP consent the plant runs under.
  • Colour contamination control: dedicated vessels and filters for shades, and the cleaning routine between products.
  • The specific chemistry — sulfonation, diazotisation and coupling, reduction — with the plant’s temperature control and reagent handling for it.
  • Standardisation capability where you need it: blending, spray drying or milling to a strength and shade specification against your standard.
  • Analytical release: strength and shade measurement against your reference, and the equipment used for it.

Where the capacity is

Vatva in Ahmedabad and Vapi in Valsad are the historic dye clusters; Ankleshwar and Panoli make intermediates at scale; Tarapur carries dyes and pigments for the Mumbai trade.
