Batch reactor capacity for toll manufacturing
For anyone who needs a synthesis step run in somebody else’s reactor, at campaign scale, to their process.
Live listings
No verified unit lists Batch reaction capacity yet. Listings appear here the day our desk approves them, and the guide below is how we qualify one when it does.
Post your requirement and our broker desk looks for the capacity by hand, or list your own unit if you run one.
What batch reaction on job work involves
Batch reaction is the core of chemical toll manufacturing. A client owns a process — a nitration, a condensation, an amination — and buys time in a multi-purpose reactor to run it, typically for a campaign of several batches. The plant contributes the vessel, the utilities, the operators and the compliance; the client contributes the know-how, the specification and often the key raw materials.
The reactors themselves are glass-lined mild steel for acidic or corrosive service, SS316 or SS304 for neutral and alkaline chemistry, and Hastelloy or PTFE-lined vessels for the difficult cases. Working volumes run from 1 KL pilot vessels to 20 KL and beyond, jacketed for steam, hot oil or chilled brine, with reflux condensers, receivers and scrubbers around them. Fit is about the whole train, not the vessel alone.
What to check before you send an enquiry
The questions our desk puts to a unit before it qualifies an enquiry for Batch reaction. A listing answers most of them; the trial batch answers the rest.
- Material of construction against your reagents at process temperature — glass lining for acid phases, SS316 for alkali, and a plant that will show you the vessel history.
- Temperature and pressure envelope: jacket utility range (chilled brine to hot oil), design pressure, and whether the reactor is rated for the exotherm your process carries.
- Utilities and abatement: scrubber for acid gases, solvent recovery, nitrogen blanketing, and a flameproof area classification if your solvents need it.
- Effluent route: what leaves your process, and whether the plant’s ETP or CETP membership can take that load at your campaign size.
- Batch records, retained samples and a named process chemist on the plant side who will run the trial batch with your team present.
Where the capacity is
Multi-purpose batch plants are densest in Ankleshwar, Panoli and Vapi in Gujarat, with strong pharma-oriented capacity in Pashamylaram and Jeedimetla near Hyderabad and a long-established chemical estate at Tarapur north of Mumbai.
