Esterification toll manufacturing in India

For esters made at scale — reactor, column and decanter in one train, with the water taken off as it forms.

Live listings

No verified unit lists Esterification capacity yet. Listings appear here the day our desk approves them, and the guide below is how we qualify one when it does.

Post your requirement and our broker desk looks for the capacity by hand, or list your own unit if you run one.

What esterification on job work involves

Esterification is a routine but equipment-specific step, which is why it is often bought as toll manufacturing. Driving the reaction to completion means removing the water as it forms, so the reactor needs a column, a condenser and a decanter to return the entrainer and reject the water, plus vacuum to strip the last of it. Plasticisers, fragrance and flavour esters, coating resin intermediates and agrochemical intermediates are all made this way.

Catalysts range from mineral acids and sulfonic acids to titanates and tin compounds, each with its own washing and neutralisation afterwards. Colour is often the specification that matters most, so a plant that controls temperature, excludes air and finishes with a clean vacuum strip is worth more than one with a bigger vessel.

What to check before you send an enquiry

The questions our desk puts to a unit before it qualifies an enquiry for Esterification. A listing answers most of them; the trial batch answers the rest.

  • Reactor train: column and decanter fitted, entrainer recovery, and vacuum capacity for the final strip.
  • Catalyst experience with your system and the post-treatment it needs — washing, neutralisation, adsorbent treatment, filtration.
  • Colour and acid-value results on comparable esters, from the plant’s own records.
  • Aqueous effluent: the wash streams and their organic load into the ETP or CETP.
  • Storage and packing for the finished ester — nitrogen-blanketed tanks where colour or odour matters, drums or IBCs cleaned to your standard.

Where the capacity is

Ankleshwar and Vapi hold esterification capacity inside multi-purpose plants; Dahej and Nandesari carry larger vessels for plasticiser and resin intermediates near petrochemical feedstock.
